About the role
As a member of the Gas and Heating Maintenance team, you will be responsible for delivering planned and preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on commercial heating systems. You will work closely with social housing providers and local authorities to ensure compliance, safety, and effective service delivery across a range of properties.
What you'll do
• Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance of commercial heating systems in social housing and local authority properties
• Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plant, including basic electrical fault-finding
• Ensure all work is completed within statutory compliance timeframes, including providing gas safety certificates and necessary documentation
• Power flush heating systems and undertake repairs or replacements of defective pumps, valves, radiators, and PUs
• Maintain clean, organised plant rooms and ensure proper van stock control as directed
• Liaise directly with residents, clients, and local authority representatives to provide updates on maintenance work
• Assist with creating quotations based on site surveys and reports
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota for emergency repair work
• Stay up to date with gas safety legislation, codes of practice, and best practices within the industry, delivering toolbox talks to colleagues
• Manage and prioritise your own workload to deliver high standards of service
You'll have
• Domestic and Commercial ACS Qualifications: COCN1, CCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1 / TPCP1A, CENWAT
• Experience working with social housing providers or local authorities
• Strong understanding of compliance requirements in communal and commercial heating systems
• 2+ years of industry experience
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and clients
• Gas Safe Registered
• Ability to pass DBS Check
• A full UK driving licence
