Job description

Role Summary
We are seeking a Senior Data Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-grade Information Protection and Data Loss Prevention strategies across complex environments, leveraging Microsoft Purview.
This role is critical in ensuring the protection of sensitive data across systems, applications, and cloud platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to assess risk, define security frameworks, and implement robust controls that ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Key Responsibilities
Data Security Architecture
• Design and implement scalable data security architectures aligned with business and regulatory requirements
• Define frameworks for secure data storage, transmission, encryption, and access control
• Ensure alignment with enterprise and cloud architecture strategies
• Hands on implementation experience with Microsoft Purview Data Protection and DLP solutions.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation
• Conduct risk assessments and threat modelling to identify vulnerabilities
• Develop and implement mitigation strategies and security controls
Security Solution Design
• Translate business and compliance requirements into detailed security designs
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to embed security into systems and applications
• Ability to build and evaluate data classifications leveraging Sensitive information types, Exact data match and Trainable classifiers.
Data Privacy & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with regulations such as GDPR and other relevant frameworks
• Implement data privacy controls including encryption, anonymisation, and audit mechanisms
Technology Evaluation
• Evaluate and recommend security tools and platforms
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives and guide implementation
Incident Response & Governance
• Support incident response planning and security investigations
• Contribute to security policies, standards, and governance frameworks
Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work with business, legal, compliance, and technical teams
• Communicate complex security concepts clearly to all stakeholders

Job requirements

Required Qualifications
• 7–10+ years of experience in data security, security architecture, or related roles
• Strong expertise in data security principles, frameworks, and best practices
• Experience with risk assessment, threat modelling, and security controls
• Hands-on experience with security technologies (encryption, IAM, DLP, SIEM, etc.)
• Strong understanding of databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
• Experience with cloud security (Azure preferred)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in information governance or regulated industries
• Familiarity with Microsoft security ecosystem (Purview, M365 Compliance, Azure Security)
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Azure Security Engineer
• Experience with data warehousing or BI tools (e.g., Power BI)
